Fosteur is an independent British rock band and record label. Fosteur has three albums: "Inner Screen", "Diatopolis" and "Pure Stream"
The only albums uploaded to the DR database so far this year (up to 19th March 2021) which had a better dynamic range than Fosteur's "Inner Screen" were from these artists: Auragraph, Neil Young, Tool and John Mayall.

Qobuz and others have now made the original 24-bit/96Khz masters available on their streaming sites.
Note that you can only play the album in full High Resolution on equipment which uses the Hi-Res Audio logo - see the main album picture above. The Hi-Res Audio logo is not on the actual album cover,
Well, we talked. Then Mr. Sean McCauley listened to us. Then he listened to the album. Then we chatted a bit more. Then he wrote this press release which is now meandering through the internet "into perpetuity" he said. Thank you, Mr. McCauley.
Songs 4 to 9 on the Inner Screen album are all linked together. There are plans to publish a book, later in 2021, which is loosely based on the character in our Inner Screen album.

We noticed how some listeners on the Swedish site https://www.faktiskt.io/ considered our production quite good on the first two albums. They actually preferred the slightly higher dynamics of our first album, Pure Stream. They will be pleased to know we have kept the dynamics as high in our latest production. We too are music and HiFi enthusiasts and we will keep standards as high as we can.
We also read that you purchased our music - many thanks and we hope you enjoy it!
Making "Inner Screen" has been 6 months of solid work - 7 days a week rehearsing, recording, writing and then mixing and mastering. We do not want to be part of the corporate music business but that means we do everything ourselves. We'll be taking a few months off now.
Many, many thanks to everyone who streams or buys our music! Please email us with any comments or questions you have.
Anyone can publish music online quite easily these days - and that is how we do it too. We have no physical CDs at this point. Producing CDs is also not too difficult but we simply don't have the resources yet to market a CD.
We can help you with mastering your recordings before you publish them. Mastering is the final part of the recording process after mixing. It is important because it can not only fine tune frequencies but also control the overall volume of your recording - see the section above for HiFi enthusiasts to see how we master our songs. Good mastering helps the songs on an album "sit together" better as well.
We know the value of dynamics in a recording. Letting music "breathe" was once a "must" in the days of vinyl - music would simply distort otherwise. Digital techniques offered huge improvements but the music industry just "maxed out" all the possibilities for the sake of loud recordings. Streaming services are now adjusting the volume of the music they play to prevent sudden changes in volume between tracks. Each streaming service has its own methods. This makes mastering even more important - in fact it becomes critical. Getting this right will give your recordings the best chance of being vivid and sound loud enough at the volume set by the streaming service. If you get it wrong your music could even sound too quiet or lifeless.
If you become a customer, we will provide you with a 2 minute clip of each mastered track for your approval. If you are not satisfied then we work with you to get the sound you want. If you are still not satisfied with the master then you pay nothing and we delete all traces of your uploaded music. We do not automate anything -there are no "mastering algorithms" at Fosteur Records. Our motto: It is only right if it sounds right. We never own your music and never do anything with your music without your consent. The price is £49 per (3 to 7 minute) track. For whole albums we charge less per track. Contact us for more information. We'll phone you or set up an online meeting with you - we don't mess around with email for important stuff, unless you prefer email. There are no online forms - you talk to a real person who is interested in getting it right. We know how hard you have worked to make your music.
